1st Trimester Blues..

Hey, hey you beautiful people!! Hope you all are doing absolutely wonderful today 🙂

In one of my recent blog post I told you that I would share more about my pregnancy and all that great stuff so, here it goes..

**DISCLAIMER: I AM NOT A MEDICAL PROFESSIONAL. THE THOUGHTS AND STATEMENTS INCLUDED IN THIS BLOG IS JUST WHAT WORKED FOR ME AND A FEW TIPS ON WHAT I DID/DO WITH MY PREGNANCY. PLEASE CHECK WITH YOUR HEALTHCARE PROVIDER BEFORE ACTING ON WHAT YOU HAVE READ HERE. ONCE AGAIN, I AM NOT A MEDICAL PROFESSIONAL.

Okay, now that that is out of the way, all pregnancies are different and I learned that very early on in my pregnancy just from reading different books and talking with many different women/mothers that I know and trust.

Whenever I found out that we are expecting I started doing a lot of research and asking TONS of questions so that I can do everything I can to make sure we have a healthy pregnancy and baby.

The very first week after my positive test I felt absolutely wonderful! I could eat, drink and be merry.. then that wonderful second week hit and BOOM!! A good bit of the preggo symptoms hit me hard. I was really tired all day, everyday. I had all day sickness (not just in the morning, like some women) and the thought of food just made me want to hurl so no food for me. I tried to make sure I was staying hydrated, but I threw that up too, so just ice chips for me, that’s what my diet consisted of for about three weeks. I lost about 10 pounds and honestly, I started to worry a little because I was concerned that the baby wasn’t getting all the nutrients that he/she needed. My healthcare provider assured me that we both were okay and for me to continue to eat whatever I could keep down, try to drink as much water as I could and to keep taking my prenatals.

I had so many people tell me the things that they did when they were preggo and what worked for them so I would like to share those tips with you if you’re planning on having a baby soon, preggo now, or just want the info for a later date.

My 1st Trimester Pregnancy Tips (in no particular order):

  • Take a good prenatal. (Talk with your healthcare provider to see which brand is good for you.)
  • Drink plenty of water! If you think you’ve had enough chances are you haven’t.
  • Do your own research. I read books and articles online just so I could know as much as I needed. Try to stay clear of all the negative things people write about pregnancy. I didn’t read anything that would cause me to worry or fear anything related to being pregnant or giving birth, don’t want to entertain those thoughts.
  • Ask your healthcare provider any and every question you may have. If you don’t ask how will you know? Chances are they will understand and will be willing to answer any question to put you at ease. (Gross fact coming, one night I threw up some black crap that really freaked me out, I wanted to call my healthcare provider but it was super late, I think like 2am, but first thing that morning I called her and sent her pictures, that’s right I took pictures so she would know exactly what it looked like, and she assured me I was fine and told me that I could have called her, it was no problem.)
  • Start a healthy diet (I know, I know you may not be able to keep everything down, but at least TRY to get some healthy things in)
  • Take lots of pictures to track your belly bump progress (I was taking one every week, but that was just a bit too much for me and my belly didn’t start to pop out until my 4th month so I really wasn’t seeing any bump growth but boy, oh boy can I see the growth now 😲
  • Exercise. If you already have a workout routine you may have to just modify it and if you don’t workout you could start lightly. (Talk with your healthcare provider)
  • Family and friends will be so happy that you’re having a baby that they will give you all of the advice, and honestly, some of it you won’t even ask for, it can get frustrating but just take it in love and if you can’t use it just disregard it and if you can, use it.
  • Stay P O S I T I V E!! If you don’t take anything else from this list, please take this. It’s so important for you to stay positive and encouraged for both you and the little one growing in your tummy 🙂

its real

That’s all I have for you gals today, if I think of anything else I’ll add it to the 2nd trimester tips. I hope this helped someone and please, by all means, if you have any tips and/or questions (I will try my hardest to answer them) comment them below, just may be what someone else may need. Or, if you have an encouraging, uplifting, funny 1st trimester story to tell please do.

Y’all have a wonderful day now!! 🙂
